Galapagos
The final day of the trip (day 10) felt almost like a continuation of day 9, with a brutal 3:30am flight from Guayaquil to Panama (GYE-PTY). Coffee Bean at Panama Tocumen International Airport before 6:00am was almost as bad an idea, at least their cold smoked salmon roll was. To be fair the hot chocolate was pretty decent.
Upgrades cleared right before boarding on the second flight, from Panama to Houston (PTY-IAH), and managed to sleep maybe half the flight. Upgrade cleared again for the final flight of the trip, where United's ancient 2-4-2 "dorm" style business class seat was still a welcome opportunity to lie-flat and get a few hours' sleep.
The Galapagos is an amazing place-- one of the few that seems to be undersold if anything else-- and is definitely a bucket-list trip worth doing.
