The Baltics
The one full day with no driving or flying of the trip ended up being the one day it rained most of the day. Of course.
Headed out in the afternoon during a break in the rain, explored Vilnius University, stopped by the presidential palace, St. Anne's Church, some well done protest art, then just barely missed Halle Market. Felt a good bit larger than Tallinn or Riga's old towns, and quite a bit less well-kept, with more than a few abandoned buildings. The rain started to come down again so stopped by Selfish Bistro for an early dinner.
Between bouts of absolutely pouring rain, had a pretty solid round of oysters, some a bit ocean-y, some more meaty, one (the bottom-most one in the picture) very mild. The Thai-style seafood soup was surprisingly good from a European restaurant, and the octopus was not only properly cooked but was quite good. Even a small child passing by with his mom exclaimed "look! Squid!" upon seeing my meal.
