July 2022: Day 1: Flying

United Polaris Dining Room at ORD.

Roth cheese buttermilk blue cheese paired with raisins.

Split pea soup.

Three potato pancake. Smidgen too greasy, could have been served atop a parchment paper to absord the grease.

Printed menus are back! Menu onboard ORD-FRA.

Warm nuts and a mimosa.

Turbot is okay. Could be better, but compared to the crap they served before, this is still a solid improvement.

Salad with smoked salmon, edamame, and watermelon?? Odd.

Cheese plate and pre-made sundare.

Not as good as the sundae cart before, but I'll work.

The United Polaris Lounge at Chicago O'Hare (ORD) isn't my favorite, but honestly, it worked. And the Polaris Dining Room is a nice upgrade over the buffet, although I just barely had time to enjoy my meal there.

Onboard the 787 to Frankfurt, the improved-as-of-June-1st menu was in full effect. The main course is improved, the salad is better but still some weird-*ss ideas for a salad, and the ice cream sundaes are unfortunately pre-made so no customization. At least it was nice that my upgrade went through and I was able to lie-flat for some proper sleep across the Atlantic.
