Starting the day with a 5:30am flight is never fun, but working remotely meant I had to schedule my flights around stuff at work. At least with a bunch of long layovers to work, I was able to find a semi-quiet space inside the United Club in Denver for a couple of hours?
Newark Airport was unfortunately not so quiet, due to not only the inaugural flight to Palma de Mallorca (PMI) (that I of course had to stop by), but the continued nasty summer weather causing delays throughout the northeast. At least the new United Club at EWR is open, and it's such a massive space-- seats for 500+-- I was able to secure a decent booth and work for a few hours, although it was busy enough that taking calls was not ideal.
What was supposed to be a 2 hour layover in Newark turned into nearly 5 hours... but at least the flight to Johannesburg made it off the ground before midnight.
