South Africa
Couldn't resist a good deal to South Africa. And just enough time for a mini-safari on top.
The fifth in a series of six trips in a row, it was a lot of flying, and yet another layover in the northeastern USA, which has been going through a worse bout of late spring/summer weather than usual, but in the end it all worked out.
Day 1 - heading across the Atlantic after the (sadly) usual weather delays in Newark, although got to drop by the EWR-PMI inaugural during the delay.
Day 2 - 14 hours from Newark to Johannesburg plus an aviation-themed hotel on arrival.
Day 3 - quick mini-safari at Glen Afric, then Lion and Safari Park, expertly guided by Mark from Wildside Tours and Safaris.
Day 4 - beginning the long journey back with nearly 16 hours of flying from Johannesburg to Newark.
Day 5 - morning arrival in Newark and one more flight home.
