Presidents' Day weekend
The two weeks(ish) of the annual Firefall in Yosemite National Park has become a crazy tourist spectacle. This year, despite the driest January on record, was no exception. Arrival to Yosemite about 2pm was early enough, although I'd say even an hour earlier would be better, giving time to park, wait for the shuttle, etc.
After an unimpressive Firefall due to nearly non-existent water flowing down Horsetail Falls, it was off to the AirBnB, which was actually pretty nicely done. Added plus, it was inside the park... although this year Yosemite decided to not require entrance reservations for the firefall so it was a bit of a moot point.
Only screwup? The Firefall was much better the next day and we stupidly decided not to go back. Uuuuugggggghhhhhh.
