January 2022: Day 2: Arrival

Pre-arrival meal. Quiche was too bready but otherwise surprisingly good.

The "suite" is identical in size and layout to the bedroom, but with a couch and chairs instead of a bed.

I forget if this is the 1st or the 2nd bathroom in the suite.

Short layover in Germany on the way to Egypt, just long enough for a decent snack at the Lufthansa Senator Lounge in Concourse B at Frankfurt Airport. Saw some unexpected activity at the gate (German Federal Police escorting a deportee??), and then on arrival at CAI, the plane was actually held on the tarmac due to a bunch of ***hole anti-maskers refusing to mask up. Uuugggghh.

Fortunately that was it for unexpected excitement on this trip. It was the expected maze of traffic from the airport to Marriott Mena House, which you stay at because of the spectacular view of the pyramids the hotel has, then the welcome end to a very long day.
