Noon departure to Houston (IAH) was pretty pleasant, and the newly opened United Polaris Lounge there is quite nice. It's not the best of the Polaris lounges (EWR, IAD, SFO) but for a domestic lounge the Polaris lounges are all still pretty tops-- better than the few AmEx Centurion lounges I've tried, unfortunately can't say about American Airlines Flagship as I haven't tried those yet.
Sadly I did not have time for the full Polaris Dining Room experience; the pork carintas and black bean soup were quite solid for restaurant food, but obviously Mexican street food is generally better. Poached pear for dessert was quite pretty. The rest of the menu will have to wait for a return visit.
Food on the flight from Houston to Frankfurt (FRA) was actually pretty solid, complete with the return of predeparture beverages in actual cups. However the rest of the soft product still has a way to go vs. the competition.
