Enlighten Bistro 168
Mostly solid dim sum at Enlighten Bistro 168, with a strangely popular puff pastry almond milk. The beef ball was excellent, and the very much fried crispy lo bac guo were a nice touch. Also kind of wondering how much MSG they use... :-/ Given their pricing, it's hard to say this a place to keep going back to when a meal at Lunasia costs the same.
Spoon and Pork on Sawtelle for dinner. The fried pork adobo took time to grow on me, but by the end of the meal I was digging it. Also to note, I ordered (and paid!) for the extra large portion of pork, and it honestly didn't seem that much... so it makes me wonder just how small the regular is?
Maybe other items at Spoon and Pork need attention? Either way they seem to be a tasty addition to Sawtelle, but not one that I feel like I need to go back to.
