Canada
Up well before dawn to drive back to Calgary, a quick stop at the Air Canada Maple Leaf Lounge where things were so empty it was a bit surreal, and then to a crowded gate and a busy airplane back to Vancouver. At least Monday's YVR-YYC and today's YYC-YVR flights were on shiny new Boeing 737 MAX 8's.
Spent a ton of time working while in Vancouver-- gave me time to sample the rather small portions at the Air Canada Maple Leaf Lounge there. As poor as the food was, it was still leaps and bounds better than United. And definiteely better than the donuts that Tim Hortons serves, although to Tim Hortons' credit, their fried chicken mini-sandwich was actually not bad.
Uneventful flight on an old Airbus A321 back to LAX, where the automated people mover is well under construction, then an indifferent dinner at Pho MDR.
Until next time, Canada. You never disappoint, and hopefully next time will be long enough for a proper visit instead of a last-minute rush due to the unexpectedly sudden border reopening!
