Canada
Clouds and rain sprinkles greeted the sunrise over Moraine Lake, which was no less pleasant and scenic despite the poor weather.
Hiking a few hours later benefited from the sun finally breaking through the clouds-- Mirror Lake, the stairs, and Lake Agnes all enjoyed occasional moments of brilliance, as did Lake Louise on the return. Turquoise waters below jagged peaks, tree-lined slopes, and glacial planes... Alberta is incredibly beautiful country that never disappoints. And an evening stroll up to Takakkaw Falls was well worth the drive and the soaked camera gear (nevermind the soaked human!).
Sadly the tight schedule left little time for good food. The Fairmont Lake Louise grab and go was certainly adequate for a tourist trap, with the croissants as a particularly good value for breakfast, but that was about it. A late dinner at Lake Louise Village Grill and Bar was best described as indifferent, but literally every other restaurant I tried had a 60 to 90 minute wait. o_0
