The Bahamas
One more crack at sunrise photos. Not that many palm trees here in good locations for the sunrise, plus a second straight morning of low clouds in the distance. However, sunrise is still the most pleasant time of day to be out and about-- relatively cool and comfortable, and only the hotel employees around!
Taxi ride back to the airport revealed the continued lack of tourists (and cruise ships), even the airport wasn't all that busy. US Pre-Clearance terminal is convenient but food options are limited, although as a major plus the nearby international/domestic terminal has a post office for last-minute postcards!
Flights back to the USA were reasonably full, and completely devoid of service, which AA seems to blame on COVID-19-- aka you'd better bring your own water, they don't even offer that. And while I can't blame AA for this, high winds caused severe delays across the entire DC area. Circled for 90 minutes and then ended up diverted to Norfolk (ORF). o_0 At least they flew the plane back to DC an hour later instead of sticking on a bus or leaving us to fend for ourselves. Still super annoying tho, they claimed the flight was "on-time" right up until it wasn't. *sigh*
Either way, finally made it to Cousin Matt's place, four hours later than expected!
