The Bahamas
Couldn't quite figure out an optimal location for sunrise photos-- should have explored more yesterday! Did manage to hit Arawak Cay/Fish Fry for lunch-- the local food is worlds better than the resort food, although by the time you factor in cab fare it's still not a cheap meal. The jerk pork at The Grill Master is pretty legit tho. Nomnomnomnom...
Squeezed in between the rest of the workday was a quick walk around the resort grounds. Relatively empty due to the pandemic, I can imagine this place packed during pre-pandemic peak season. Lots of stuff for kids, teens, and adults, although a good bit less beachy and more pooly than I had imagined. The true size of Atlantis Bahamas does set in when you walk out to the pools or the beach, as you see the central massive hotel buildings connected by a skyarch, then you realize there's two more tall towers to one side, and two older low-rise towers to the other...
Filled in the end of the night with the NFL Draft at one of the resort bars, complete with more overpriced, mediocre resort food. They at least had big TVs and weren't too crowded!
(original plan was to go back to Arawak Cay/Fish Fry... but... yeah... NFL draft!)
