Random fooding and restocking: Koi Palace from San Francisco did a preorder/drop-off. Sticky rice was okay, a bit too salty (probably from the dried scallop, quite fancy!), haw gow and shu mai were pretty and tasty as expected but definitely lose something in translation from fresh at the restaurant to frozen and steamed at home.
Lunch the next day from two food carts, Tripp Burger and My Mango Sticky Rice. The former was pretty ordinary, down to the Kraft American Singles, while My Mango Sticky Rice is still pretty tasty, but I wonder how much longer they'll be able to source ripe mangos?
Dinner was a surprisingly excellent hot pastrami from Element 29 Deli in Culver City. A tad on the fatty side, finding pastrami this good from an unassuming spot in Culver City was not what I expected! Although skip the salad, or at least be aware it's more ordinary than extraordinary.
