Shunji
As delicious as a proper sit-down dinner at Shunji is, a 3-hour experience on a weeknight is a bit rough. And with the impending re-shutdown of outdoor dining at restaurants... to-go seemed like the more prudent option on multiple levels.
Did the premium sushi box and then threw in two extra pieces of uni for good measure. Because uni is delicious.
Top row: bluefin toro cut roll, salmon roe (ikura) over rice.Middle row: Chutoro, maguro, halibut (hirame), sweet lip snapper (higesori dai), golden eye snapper (kinme dai), threadfin seabream (itoyori dai), red snapper (ma dai). Bottom row: winter yellowtail (kanburi), jack mackerel (shimaaji), otoro, black throat sea perch (nodoguro), amberjack (kanpachi), live sweet shrimp (amabi), sea urchin (uni).
And oh yes, aside from uni always being delicious, and otoro being excellent, rhe nodoguro was stellar this visit. So many tasty noms!
