Utah: August 2020
Hit the tourist traps right outside Bryce Canyon for breakfast. Aka anti-masker-ville. *sigh* Ruby's Country Inn couldn't even pack a to-go box properly, exploding the eggs before even handing the box over. Spent a bit too much time waiting in line for breakfast to stop on the way, which was unfortunate. Ranches and what looked like an abandoned mine off Johns Valley Road would have made for a nice couple of stops for photos, and Otter Creek Reservoir dominated a long stretch of UT-62E.
The haze from the fires ruined some good views the rest of the day, but that worked out in the end, since it was time to go home. A quick flight from Moab (CNY) to Denver (DEN), then ended the trip with some cottony clouds that made me realize just how much I miss travel. Final approach to LAX was more haze, over both the Los Angeles basin and the mountains, then greeted by a pair of Boeing 777's parked at Terminal 7. The larger was off to Hong Kong and smaller to New York, as a reminder of how much things have changed since March...
