Ramen and bento
Unexpected stop at the original Shin Sen Gumi Hakata Ramen in Gardena. Outdoor seating that was totally empty... sure, why not? And definitely missing sitting down and eating at a restaurant-- this was the first time in 138 days???
Plus, like most soup noodles, ramen is definitely best enjoyed fresh, in a real bowl, compared to a car ride and take-out boxes!
Dinner that night from Sushi Tsujita, now operating for take-out as Bento Tsujita. Waygu bento is a bit too greasy, and they seem very rice-heavy. Felt like a meal that ultimately missed its potential, although if you don't mind heavy and greasy, their ten-don boxes with tempura look worthwhile. Their appetizer box, while high quality, also gets a bit lost in the shuffle, as so many high-end restaurants now do a high-quality appetizer box.
The next day, made fried rice in honor of Uncle Roger's experience with the BBC version. *grins* And somewhere in there, a dragonfly stopped by!
