Urasawa
The infamous Urasawa is now doing delivery during the global pandemic. Three Michelin 2*'s in the same city doing take-out/delivery to survive. Crazy. o_0
Delivery is handled with old Japanese formality, down to the wooden tray and cloth wrapping of the laquer bento box. Inside the bento box, aside from glass and ceramic, is a meal of uni, ikura, tamago, shrimp, and other delicious things. Quite packed, actually-- yet still well-presented.
However, as elegant and formal as the presentation is, as over the top as a real laquer bento box is... the food, while delicious, doesn't quite blow you away. As it should for the price. And the presentation misses something due to the density of the food. It has balance and grace, yet lacks the surprise, the unexpected elegance, the umami part that hallmarks the very top of a superb meal. Part of this is due to the formidable price: for what they charge, they are their own high bar.
