Not quite deserted...

They're hoping to resume dine-in service on May 1. We'll see if that's optimistic...

Plenty of eggs at 99 Ranch, but only if you buy 25.

Things are pretty well stocked.

Lobster on sale!

Spot prawns are still pricey.

Seafood and butcher... yeah. I avoided. Unnecessary exposure.

Freezers look good.

Lots of fish. I skipped.

And salmon.

But basically no pork.

Mostly plenty of veggies and fruits.

Uhh yeah, wash anything you buy here that's not wrapped.

Half and Half is almost deserted.

Closing early to sanitize daily. BOGO on some drinks, and $1 off!

Might be the last Half and Half for a long time-- with Boba Guys closer, hard to justify coming out here, especially during a pandemic.

Dim Sum Express.

Let's do this.

Roads more empty than normal, but far more idiots than normal, too.

Frozen the baos, ate the rest over a few meals.

No lines at all at 99 Ranch in Monterey Park, vs. the lines I'd seen at every grocery store I'd passed on the westside. That made this trip worth it.

Definitely kind of unsettling being in a grocery store tho... for the past week I don't think I'd been next to more than ten people in a confined space, and obviously a grocery store has way more people in it than that. Hope the groceries were worth the risk, honestly not sure how I'll feel when it's time to do another grocery run. And this may be the first time I've ever washed all my veggies in hot soapy water after buying. o_0

Stopped at a few other places too, since some other foods aren't really available closer to home. Half and Half may have been an unnecessary stop but it was hard to resist the call of milk tea.
