Fooding roundup
Breakfast the last morning of Simon's visit at Mary and Robb's Westwood Cafe. It's got too much bad 80's decor to be charming, but Mary and Robb's Westwood Cafe has affordable prices for a decent meal.
Follow it up with dinner a few days later with Sue and Ophelia at Mala Town on Sawtelle. It's decent but ultimately forgettable hot pot and appetizers, including a dan dan mein and some spareribs that, while tasty enough, don't leave any more impression than the hot pot does. In fact, the most memorable part of the hot pot was the ridiculously large portion of yam, which is clearly there just to fill you up? Or to make you forget about the lump of noodles they serve you?
