Hong Kong: Thanksgiving 2019
Wasn't planning to go back to Hong Kong a third time this year, but Sam wanted to hang out, and honestly, HK isn't a bad place to do that. t'was a long enough trip to wander off the beaten path as well, which is a nice change from the usual trips.
Also accidentially hit a plethora of current and former Michelin star holders. Yat Lok and Tim Ho Wan both have (or had) locations that had earned 1*, while both Fook Lam Moon and Ming Court currently have 1*? The former two are just ordinary neighborhood joints with ordinary neighborhood pricing, too.
Plus we both have plenty of friends there, and it's nice to visit friends who live in far off places!
Days 1 and 2 - flying. Rather inefficient routing via SFO and NRT, because that's the way the upgrade dice rolled.
Day 3 - Exploring the island side, with lunch in Causeway Bay and dinner in Central, plus a quick wander to Tai Kwun after dinner.
Day 4 - Tourist fail at Duck Shing Ho, then up to Happy Valley for the F11 Foto Museum, and dinner in Wan Chai.
Day 5 - All the way up to Sai Kung to explore the countryside. Sam and his friend Ada had a relaxing day while I tried a trail run up in Sai Wan.
Day 6 - Final day of friends and food before heading back.
