Beautiful sunset and some superb al pastor earlier in the week with Vogel Photography. NOM NOM NOM!
Wasn't planning to go back so soon, but later in the week, Justin made it in that evening and it was late, so... oh heck why not. Al pastor was still good, but not mind-blowing, while the tripas were definitely better the second time around. Buche, as always, was delicious; perhaps the most consistent item on the menu.
Cracked open New zealand Whisky Dunedin Double Cask afterwards. Very solid for an 18 year, with a nose that hints at complexity and a full body-- hints of fruit and spice. Not too smooth and not too mellow, as older whisky tends to be. And the finish with hints of toffee was quite good. Definitely not the best 18yo out there, but a very solid effort from a region not known for whisky. Will have to try more from the NZ Whisky collection at a future date...
