Hae Jang Chon
It'd been a while since the last SSC KBBQ trip, and Bethany decided it was time for more pancake!
I was actually in downtown Los Angeles for the Salesforce World Tour-- mostly informative, learned a few useful things, not much that was higher-ed specific, and keynote handled the protestors well. It was a quick subway ride over to k-town for dinner. Everyone managed to be early, which worked out well, since service is way better at Hae Jang Chon if you're there before they're busy.
Devoured the usual spread of brisket, tongue, bulgogi, pork jowl, and galbi. All were pretty tasty today. Some intestine was ordered by Joe for variety, and there was a specific request for the kimchi grilled cheese fried rice at the end. It was more greasy than some other places, but it was a welcome addition to the usual, and it's always fun to watch them blowtorch the cheese.
Dessert afterwards at Somi Somi (taiyaki) and Sul and Beans (pat bing su). Mike wasn't impressed by his takiyaki, but the massive mango pat bing su was pretty decent... even if the last thing we needed was more food!
