Pacific Dining Car
Sometime in the past few weeks, Northern Cafe's second location in Westwood switched from teppanyaki to noodles. Not sure it's particularly good, but it's not bad considering the near-absence of edible Chinese food in west LA.
Dinner the next day was Pacific Dining Car's 98 cent baseball steak special. The rest of the (decidedly ordinary) menu was full priced, but it's hard to complain about a USDA prime top sirloin for under a dollar. *grins* The deal got not only Sue and Ophelia to come, but also the mysterious Chris!
The unexpected discovery of a Boba Guys nearby in the ghetto was a surprise. It was both pleasant and unpleasant; pleasant in that Boba Guys is always delicious, tasty gourmet milk tea; unpleasant in that parking for this location is pretty much non-existent. A pair of parking lots teases you, except they're both locked and gated behind 10 foot high fences.
