Aruba: July 2019
With so many sunsets on this trip, decided getting up early for the sunrise might help balance things out? Or continue the theme? Unfortunately Aruba is a bit thin on non-beachy sights. California Lighthouse, at the northern end, wasn't much of a sunrise... but the partially cloudy weather that's been the theme of the whole trip did provide some dramatic conditions a good bit after sunrise.
Since it was still too early to get breakfast, stopped to photograph a small flock of ospreys on the way back. That managed to time things just right to grab Dutch pancakes at Diana's Pancakes at their 8:00am opening. Not quite sure if they're more of a pancake or more of a crepe, but they were tasty enough.
After some beach time, it was time to hit the airport. The terminal is half gaudy and loud, half US Preclearance, and all crowded. Food options are pretty sad and far too American, but I guess they're trying to appeal to their audience?
Hurricane Barry managed to wreak havoc with flights, but the side-effects were (yes, a broken record) yet another decent sunset on final approach to Houston (IAH) as well as (yes, another) sprint across the terminal to catch my connecting flight back home.
