SF Marathon
Started the trip with Osteria by Fabio Viviani at LAX Terminal 6. First time, at least to my knowledge, that dineLA Restaurant Week has come to LAX? The food was quite forgettable, but still well-executed for an airport restaurant. dineLA Restaurant Week pricing helped it go from a not-so-great value to a semi-decent value, too. Then a quick flight to SFO...
Pre-race activities including the SF Marathon expo, a stop at Amazon Go, and then an excellent dinner at Trestle with Ants. Trestle is one of the better prix fixe options in San Francisco, with a frequently-changing menu. Summer is highlighted with well-executed soups, tasty stone fruit salads, and surprisingly good flat iron steaks. Pastas weren't as good, but they were very fresh.
Can't forget the s'mores at Off the Grid. It was a bit early for dessert, but an oversized s'mores with a Reese's peanut butter cup was too interesting to resist. Might try the salty one (add a pretzel) next time?
