Prague: June 2019
Uneventful flight to EWR and a quick bus ride to the nearest McDonald's for their one-afternoon-only international menu. The stroopwafel McFlurry (The Netherlands) was diabetes in a cup, the Grand McExtreme Bacon Burger (Spain) was a ton of cheese, and the cheesy bacon fries (Australia) was just overload. Not good.
Back at EWR, United had a ceremony setup at the gate for the inaugural EWR-PRG flight; United's NY/NJ president Jill Kaplan lead the speeches and ribbon-cutting. It was a much less grandiose affair than the LAX-SIN inaugural two years ago - but still kind of cool. And they're very much looking forward to adding service to Cape Town this fall! Now only if United can be bothered to add some more long haul international routes to LAX. *cough* LAX-HKG, LAX-EZE, and bring back LAX-SIN please?
The flight itself was quick and uneventful, with the sole surprise being the on a Polaris-retrofitted 767 instead of the originally scheduled pre-retrofit one.
