Melbourne
Woke up from a quick nap to dreary weather and rain. Debated breakfast but ultimately skipped the plethora of available options, since I was still full from last night! Skipping breakfast and heading straight to the airport proved to be a wise move, as traffic at the airport was a bit of a mess. Combine with some poor navigational choices and an excruciating delay at security meant I needed every minute I saved from skipping breakfast... and still needed to do a nearly-full-on run to the gate!
At least the upgrade on the return went through, which meant not only being able to get some decent sleep on the 14 hour flight back, it meant not having to worry about subsisting on cup noodle and United's blue snack bags. Even more surprising, the pork chop they served was not only substantial, but surprisingly tasty.
Between sleep, a movie or two, fruit for breakfast, and the usual early-morning sunrise over the Pacific, it was time to land at LAX. The usual mess that is Tom Bradley International Terminal (TBIT) is always fun (not), and then it was time to go back to reality.
Until next time, Australia!
Next time, might be time to find/see/do: Great Barrier Reef, wild koalas, whisky tasting, Perth/west coast, wine tasting, wild wombats, RAAF museum, beer, Uluru, Gold Coast... the list goes on and on!
