Mammoth
Slumming it in Mammoth, starting off at the top! Tons of snow for so early in the season, but at this point it was all packed powder-- nice enough to not complain tho, especially on the backside. The backside was even nicer than the front, despite Chair 13 being out of commission.
The hike up Chair 14 to White Bark Bowl wasn't fun, but it was at least short, and White Bark Bowl was an awesome ride back down to the front side. Perhaps the best snow we'd had all day.
Quick stop at Mammoth Brewing on the way back, where they had some pretty decent seasonal beers on tap. Ikon Session IPA, Saucer Boy Hazy IPA, Fire and Eisbock, Charley's Revenge, Been Dessert'd Salted Caramel Breakfast Stout, and Black Plum Sour. The last had an interesting flavor from the plum compared to a conventional sour, while both IPAs were quite decent. Not quite sure on the breakfast stout-- it was very interesting but also not quite a flavor profile that fit anywhere?
Mike, Lan Lan, Lucas, and Zeus showed up that afternoon, Chris sous vide'd and blowtorched steaks, and we had a superb dinner... including massive defeat at so much steak and baked potato. o_0
