Yellowknife
Calgary Airport is a quaint mix of old and new, from their old pre-security food court to the rather modern Maple Leaf Lounge airside. An old worn-out Airbus A319 on the way up from LAX to YYC, then an even smaller Bombardier Q400 for the flight up to the frozen city of Yellowknife.
Scarfed down some pricey pizza after escaping an airport overrun by Chinese tourists, then got to bask in the glory of the Northern Lights.
They may not have been at their most magnificent tonight, but given how unpredictable both solar activity and the local weather is-- particularly the snow and clouds this far north-- sometimes you have to take what you can get, and appreciate it all the more!
