Vancouver: June 2018
Vancouver expedition, aka Mike roping some of his fellow food-driven friends into eating all the things up in Vancouver, before he and his family start their vacation. The flight up via Air Canada was nice and boring, Vancouver International Airport (YVR) was so well decorated that AJ and BK thought it was a museum, and the Richmond area is so full of mainland Chinese and their money that it's a non-stop luxury condo construction zone!
We managed to get to Kirin Seafood Restaurant right as a cancellation happened, and took full advantage with the 8-person, 10-course set dinner. And it was delicious. Lobster yee mein and the cold jellyfish were excellent. Beijing duck was just crispy skin, nevermind the delicately flowered green onion. Bitter melon with the pork chop was a very nice touch. And honestly, if you can only order one dish-- the fish filet and sauteed vegetables are the one to get. Yes, that good (!).
