Israel: May 2018
Visiting one of the more culturally significant areas in the world, plus one of the world's geographic extremes in the Dead Sea. Somehow neither my Dad nor myself had yet made it to Israel before this!
From the lowest point in the world (430.5m/1,412 feet below sea level), not to mention one of the most salty (342g/kg, 34.2%) in the Dead Sea, to some of the oldest cities at more than 6,000 years old (Jerusalem) and 11,000 years old (Jericho), to contemporary Tel Aviv on the coast... Israel is quite an experience.
Days 0 and 1 - A few bits of the flight to Tel Aviv in addition to the main focus: Masada, Ein Gedi Nature Reserve, and the Dead Sea.
Day 2 - Jerusalem, particularly the Old City.
Day 3 - Tel Aviv, focusing on Jaffa, plus wandering before we headed to the airport.
Day 4 - Return via SFO, plus exploring United's Polaris Lounge at SFO.
