Wildcraft and Ramen Jinya

Bloody mary was forgettable.

Biscuits. A bit doughy in the middle, but pretty tasty.

Beet and bacon salad.

Add in pizza and brussel sprouts.

Shrimp and poached egg.

Shrimp tempura at Jinya. Meh.

Takoyaki, Also meh.

Diana and Jane.

Jinya black ramen. A bit onion heavy but decent.

Big outdoor patio.

Brunch at Wildcraft with Diana and Jane. So-so bloody mary and slightly doughy biscuits, a decent pizza, and a beet salad that was more bacon than beet. Brussel sprouts seemed good but were actually pretty heavy due to the overload of cheese and bacon. Verdict = meh.

Ramen Jinya has expanded like crazy; despite the Sawtelle location closing, the Santa Monica one seems to be doing well. Wasn't impressed by the shrimp tempura or the takoyaki, but the ramen wasn't too bad. A little heavy but that seems to be the style for a lot of tonkotsu-based broth places today.

That said it wasn't about the food, it was the company-- Happy Birthday Diana!
