Singapore: October 2017
Couldn't resist the chance for United's inaugural flight on a new route, Los Angeles to Singapore. Having never been on any sort of inaugural flight before, I couldn't resist.
LAX-SIN is 8,770 miles, booked in at nearly 18 hours there and a little over 15 hours on the return. Ouch. So maybe I'm a little crazy. But these chances don't come along very often, and I wasn't nearly as crazy as some others... some others were doing the inaugural United LAX-SIN flight, then immediately catching a flight to Seoul for final United international 747 flight, ICN-SFO. Those guys are clearly another level of insanity.
Days 0 and 1 - Inaugural flight and festivities, or sort of-- missed all the speeches and fanfare, but not the flight itself.
Day 2 - Eating my way through Singapore after losing an entire day and more on the airplane due to time zone changes.
Day 3 - Return to the USA. You arrive almost the same time you leave due to the time zone changes on the way back.
