Roadtrip: July 2017
Did a nice 5 mile run in the morning to enjoy the scenery. The lakes, the state capitol, and the university grounds are best seen in daylight and on foot, so a run was a great way to see everything.
Quick drive to Chicago, where we avoided the loop and stopped for classic Italian food at Ricobene's. Erik enjoyed the meatball sandwich, I was not nearly as impressed by the fried beef sandwich-- maybe it's a local thing? Finding a random frozen, take-out dim sum place around the corner was also a nice touch, even were not able to properly enjoy it (wasted some har gow and shu mai, *sigh*).
Back on the road, Indiana passed by quickly (although Ty might've begged to differ), and it was onto Ohio! Then it was on to the final destination: Cleveland!
Pulled into Erik and Ty's temporary new digs at Metropolitan at The 9 in downtown Cleveland. Super fancy and dog friendly, although Ty didn't get a personalized greeting like he did at HotelRED. Celebrated the end of the roadtrip with the overrated steak at Red, the Steakhouse, plus some exploring of downtown-- and at last, we were done driving!
