Midnight departure for the airport meant the final day of the trip really started off as an extension of the previous day. At least the fast-track immigration and security experience through the Coral Executive Lounge was free and makes you feel like a rock star!
The Coral Executive Lounge isn't much, with some truly terrible food (which did look somewhat edible...), but it's one of the nicer places to hang out at Phuket International Airport, which itself isn't a bad place. And it was free, so definitely no complaining...
Six hour flight to Seoul Incheon via a more updated Asiana A330-300 was nice, but while I vaguely remember some food, I was too passed out to be aware of much of the experience. Had a few hours to kill at ICN, found the Sky Hub Lounge a bit small, but at least got a nice shower at the Asiana Lounge before the short flight to Narita. Definitely helped that the chicken salad that United served for ICN-NRT was also unexpectedly quite edible.
Very, very short layover at Narita, then a quick and comfortable flight from NRT to LAX. The "Japanese" meal onboard was a little weird, but the ice cream sundae is always good. The pile of bedding in United Polaris is a bit much, but the second pillow is surprisingly useful. Strong winds meant the flight was an hour quicker than normal (!), although a mechanical delay actually meant we were a bit delayed on arrival. Still, can't complain... except for the fact that vacation was now over upon touchdown at LAX.
