Myanmar (Burma): January 2017
The morning was greeted by the crew bringing on board a big basket of fish from a fishing boat also anchored by Sitta Galet, then french toast for breakfast!
Sailing to Nyaung Wee Island's southern tip for some more snorkeling, we snagged a wahoo (ono) on the way-- which meant fresh sashimi for lunch!
Actual lunch wasn't too much later, and it was the one Burmese dish of the whole trip-- tea leaf salad! t'was actually another very random meal, with a huge bowl of pasta, a very thin pasta sauce (is that the style here?), and a big bowl of guacamole, but strangely no chips for it.
After a usual day of sailing and snorkeling, we sailed to the night's stop off Than Yoke Island, which is also where we do a beach BBQ. Captain Brian and crew have a nice fire pit dug into the sand, Chef Pui does grilled fish, potatoes, and corn, and a delicious salad. All consumed fireside on a sandfly-free beach. Complete with a lovely sunset.
