Started off with some decidedly underwhelming croissants at Fresh Flours. Nowhere near the better stuff I've had, althought it was certainly adequate fuel for a nice long walk with Ty and Erik out to Puget Sound. The #1 pork sandwich at Un Bien was also not as impressive as the hype, although the scallops that Katie had looked damned good-- might have to try that or the shrimp the next time!
Ended up more convenient to hit up REI and Starbucks Reserve, rather than the original Starbucks, on Capitol Hill/downtown next. REI's flagship store in Seattle is the largest one around and with the best selection, kinda cool to wander around. Just beware of the awful parking structure! And the Starbucks Reserve nearby is an elaborate, noisy, brass-themed testament to Starbucks' love for the art of coffee. Perhaps grandiose is also an apt description?
Cousin Kristen's cooking for dinner-- nom! Got to meet Baby Nolan for the first time as well, plus their two cats opted to come out of hiding and make an appearance. Topped thing off with some molten chocolate cakes that Kristen and Dave picked up for dessert!
