Exploring Los Angeles
Vegetarian lunch at Happy Family Restaurant. They did a good job with the glass noodles and the deep fried mushrooms, while definitely not chicken, were an admirable stand-in. The green beans unfortunately lose something without a bit of ground beef or pork to garnish them. Stopped by Half and Half after, of course!
Off to Porto's in Downey next, where the massive line is constant but moves quickly. Stocked up on potato balls (both meat and cheese), guava cheese rolls, and the classic cheese rolls. Always delicious.
Finally, dinner at Sanuki no Sato in Torrance. Had no idea their pickled veggies were so good as we'd normally stuck to the udon and soba, as well as the sashimi before... the noodles were their customary excellent, the tempura is good, and the assorted sashimi platter wasn't bad, with particularly decent octopus. We decided to hell with it at the end and added on the salmon sashimi, tho, which was delicious-- much better choice than the assorted sashimi set.
