More Fooding
Disappointing ice cream from Peddlers Ice Cream downtown, catered in for one of our events. Rock hard-- not enough air whipped in-- and really not that good considering all the fuss. Still it was free, and the UC Cool Campus Challenge Celebration wanted ice cream, so can't complain too much. Fowler Museum courtyard is a nice little venue as well, although a bit plain compared to all the history inside.
Dinner with Steven, Grace, Matt, Michelle, and one more friend at Yabu. Some excellent soba and udon; the sushi is raved about by some but I found it was mostly just okay-- although Grace's ama ebi (live sweet shrimp) looked amazing, as did the mackerel that Steve ordered. Homemade tofu is quite nice but not as impressive. Tempura was very good too, next time stick to the mackerel, live sweet shrimp, tempura, and cold soba.
