UCLA vs. Colorado
Pretty good brunch at Julienne in San Marino with Tiffany. Creme brulee french toast was a brick of modest excess, just wish it was a tad more cooked in the middle-- and oddly it was better without the strawberry sauce.
Chilaquiles were cleanly executived and quite good, ditto for the potato cakes with eggs. Both were good without being overly fattening or rich.
UCLA vs. Colorado next. Typical conservative coaching and some terrible halftime adjustments, plus a litany of additional injuries (!) to the team meant a heart-stopper of a game til the very end, where an incredible effective UCLA offense and an interception by Nate Meadors sealed the victory against Colorado.
Congregration Ale House afterwards ('casue a victory like that requires a beer after!) was pretty good for a local microbrewery; ambiance is just about perfect. They do a very decent beer or three, but the focus mostly seems to be on other microbrews, not just their own. Plenty of Belgian style ones in addition to a sour and some more conventional ones.
Wrapped things up with Jeff and Joycelyn's Halloween potluck. Enough friends-- complete with multiple small children-- meant an early night for a lot of people. Quite a nice way to wrap up Halloween!
