Bay Area
Uneventful drive up to the Bay Area with Sue and Ophelia, ground through traffic on 580W/CA-84 to pick up Chris from Pearl and Simon's place in Union City, unpacked and said hi to Duncan, then off to dinner at Anh Hong with Diana.
Bo 7 mong (7 course beef) is a lot of fun and quite an experience compared to the regular spring rolls, although the wait for our table was longer than expected on a friggin' hot summer day. Shrimp and sugar cane, beef/shrimp, and some other dishes brought our table to overflowing, and the porridge at the end was delicious! Convenient, tasty Vietnamese food is definitely nice about the South Bay.
Crazy lines at Gong Cha after (compared to no line at Sweetheart Candies in Milpitas Square) dampened things a bit, plus the white boba (aka agar jelly) was a bit too chewy to be good. Pearl tea may be ranging across the Bay Area with Sharetea and Gong Cha both coming over from Taiwan, but they still have a ways to go to catch up to the best places in Los Angeles (oddly, CoCo, while crowded, doesn't have the same following in the Bay Area as it does in LA).
Wrapped up with some Bling Bling Gemstone, although we really should've busted out some Exploding Kittens...
