Connie and Ted's
dineLA Restaurant Week at Connie and Ted's. Superb seafood. Oysters were excellent and the lobster roll was among the best I've had on the west coast. About the only disappointing item was the fried calamari, which was still decent-- just not up to standards of the rest of the meal.
Oysters, while good, clearly aren't a specialty of the place compared to The Hungry Cat, but the selection is still excellent. Portuguese fish stew was well received by everyone who had it, as well as the squash. Just to top it off, both the hot/buttered as well as cold/ mayonnaise lobster rolls were generously sized and delicious. Just to finish things off-- desserts are massive, complete with homemade ice cream. Mmmmmmm...
Note that it's damned loud inside, so if you have a large enough group and get seated inside the semi-private dining room, it's much more enjoyable, although you do miss out on some of the ambiance. They've got an outdoor dining area as well, but we didn't really check that out.
