Star Wars Half Marathon Weekend
Ever run a race completely in the dark? 'cause that's what we just did. 5:30am start for the Disneyland Star Wars 10K, jogged a nice slow 48:31 (chip time) 10K (7:51/mile) to save the legs for tomorrow's half marathon, and the sun was just rising by the time we finished. Photos would've been nice to take with the characters on the course if it wasn't for the fact it was pitch dark outside.
Breakfast at Rutt's Hawaiian Cafe after the race. Normally packed on weekends, but at 7am there's no wait, and the royales and the Hawaiian bread french toast are NOMNOMNOMNOM. Portuguese sausage, french toast, and eggs, soooooooooooooooooo good! The royale is the other go-to, but sadly I had to be reasonable...
Dinner with Sue and Ophelia afterwards at CoCo Ichibanya for curry, since they'd never been. While curry french fries weren't bad and garlic naan was a surprising option at Japanese curry place, we all seemed to prefer Curry House or Hurry Curry for curry. Even the curry udon was decidedly unremarkable at this location.
