Thanksgiving
Early morning flight back to catch the UCLA vs. Stanford game. Alas, Coach Mora's inability to beat Stanford (or Oregon) remains-- UCLA didn't even bother to show up, one of the most embarrassing and painful performances of the whole season. While UCLA's coaches seem to be capable of a superb job, the frequent bursts of average or mediocre coaching are not acceptable, especially when they result in the tanking of any championship hopes as a result, and worse, the complete inability to beat a substantially inferior team. Mazzone in particular, when he screws up on offense, he really screws up. Ulbrich, at least, is a first-year defensive coordinator (why??? Probably a significant reason why we tanked this season...) so he sort of has an excuse. Anyway. UGH.
Ran home after the fiasco, then setup for Friendsgiving!
Managed to piece together something vaguely resembling Thanksgiving in a few hours. Seemed important, given that not everyone had a proper Thanksgiving experience! No turkey, unfortunately, due to a lack of prep time beforehand, but we made up for it with a spiral ham, brussel sprouts, asparagus, green beans, and thanks to Sue, some excellent steak!
Kristina and Ophelia then overwhelmed us all with lots of cookies and pie for dessert, while we watched Godzilla destroy San Francisco as he battled the M.U.T.O.s after dinner. Thanks to everyone for making it out-- Christine, Sue, Ophelia, Mara, Kristina, and Bora!
