Kula Sushi
Dinner at Kula Sushi with Lan Lan and Mike, plus a quick update on the pear tree.
Never ordered so many non-sushi things-- the tonkotsu ramen wasn't bad for a cheap revolving sushi place (note: low standards at such places), the salmon cheek was surprisingly meaty, and the soft shell crab actually wasn't bad. Again, for a cheap sushi place...
Sweet shrimp was quite decent, the uni looked a little sad so we skipped it, toro was so-so. But aside from ending up wearing my food, the company was good and the meal was quite enjoyable, as always! There's something strangely appealing about conveyor belt sushi, at least when it's still uncommon enough to be a novelty.
