Blaze and Ugly Roll
The day's food. Blaze Pizza for their very affordable custom pizzas. I still wonder how they stay in business given the prices they charge...
A stop by the new Rita's Ice Custard in west Los Angeles. Apparently Matt and Michelle are already regular customers, even though they've only been open for two or three weeks? The little parking lot there gets almost-but-not-quite-full pretty quick and there aren't many places to sit, but that's all well and good.
Finally tried Ugly Roll Sushi for dinner. Super, super cheap sushi. Cash only unless you order via EAT24 online. And no food poisoning, which is good. They're so low budget, they don't even do soy sauce in packets-- they pour it into the little plastic cups instead (!). Unfortunately, not much flavor either. $3.50 for the cheaper rolls, $6 or so for more expensive ones, about $1/piece for nigiri... yet it just didn't taste like anything. Given the absence of flavor, I would skip it and go elsewhere.
