Dubai and Doha
Another full day in airplanes, only thanks to the time zones, it was only 3/4ths of a day. More so-so food on United, but they do a decent job with their 777's on this route thanks to all the competition (Emirates, Qatar Air, Ethiad, and others give them stiff competition with many more non-stops to/from DXB).
We outrun the sunrise with our midnight departure from Dubai and it only catches us as we slow down to land approaching IAD. Being a major United hub, Dulles International Airport is littered with United lounges, and we catch one just long enough to get a snack, catch up on e-mail, and then pile back into airplanes for the final flight(s) home. The plus side, it's another rather decent United 757-300 on the way back, complete with personal monitors and in-seat power. The minus side, it's a domestic flight with no meal service, but that doesn't surprise anyone.
A rather unassuming conclusion for a trip halfway around the world!
