Europe 2013
Cousin Matt's year-long presence in Madrid meant a good reason to visit the Iberian peninsula, starting with a few days in Lisbon and ending with a road trip to Andorra. Not a bad way to spend a few days in Europe...
Days 0/1 - Departure from Houston, snow-related delays in Newark, arrival in Lisbon and initial exploration.
Day 2 - Mercado da Riberia, the Oceanario (aquarium), and more wandering.
Day 3 - Mosterio dos Jeronimos, Torre de Belem, and the Seafarers Monument.
Day 4 - Off to Madrid: Puerta del Sol, Plaza Mayor, Mercado de San Miguel, and wrapping up with churros con chocolate at San Gines.
Day 5 - Palacio Real de Madrid (Royal Palace), Jardines de Sabatini (gardens), art at Reina Sofia, and some local cheap eats for dinner.
Day 6 - pig ears for lunch (nom!), art at Museo del Prado, and dinner at the world's oldest restaurant, Botin.
Day 7 - El Rastro (flea market), Cafe Comercial, and km.0.
Day 8 - Off to Barcelona, exploring Ciutat Vella.
Day 9 - road trip to Andorra.
Day 10 - Return home via Frankfurt (and more delays!).
