New York 2013
Wandered Chinatown, Chelsea and the Meatpacking District, High Line Park, and the West Village before heading off to Sarah and Nick's reception in the evening.
Caught Alex for lunch at Joe's Shanghai in Chinatown-- solid xiaolongbao there-- and then headed up to the Meatpacking to wander New York Fashion Week (NYFW) and Chelsea Market. Quite a productive shopping trip at Chelsea Market (my credit card wept...), and some pretty good model and celebrity sightings outside Milk Studios, including Karlie Kloss and a bunch of people from America's Top Model. Alex's pants may even have made it into the New York Times' fashion section!
Wandered through the West Village, unknowingly skipped one of the better food trucks in Manhattan (oops!! Next time, Wafels and Dinges!), and then off to Sarah and Nick's reception. Lots of family and friends-- quite a few given this was supposed to be a small affair-- and lots of grins, happiness, and excitement all around!
Back to Harry's Italian for more beer and more pizza. Yes, it was that good. Sarah and Nick evidently are regulars there ... for good reason! Celebrated more, then finally wrapped things up at Ulysses, where we endured one last drink and a horrible DJ. Being wise, Sarah and Nick skipped the last bar. *grins* Congratulations, Sarah and Nick!
